Established in 1996, with two branches in Cameroon (HATC) and Vietnam (NEBU TIMBER), we have successfully exported wood to more than 30 countries worldwide, providing high-quality, sustainable wood to the global market.

However, the problem of logging has always been a headache for governments, and Cameroon is no exception. In recent years, Cameroon has faced a major challenge of illegal logging, with reported figures showing deforestation rates increasing at an alarming rate. According to data from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), from 2000 to 2020, Cameroon lost about 124,000 hectares of forest per year, a figure that reflects the seriousness of unsustainable logging.

NEBU TIMBER’s Charitable Activities in Cameroon
With over 20 years of experience in the African hardwood export industry, NEBU TIMBER has made many positive contributions to the community in Cameroon. The company has implemented many charitable activities that help improve living conditions and create job opportunities for local people.
Reforestation
Recognizing the importance of forest resource restoration and regeneration, NEBU TIMBER has proactively implemented reforestation projects in areas that have been exploited.
From 2018-2019, NEBU TIMBER cooperated with HATC to successfully plant more than 2,000 seedlings of species such as Iroko, Sapele, Sipo, Doussie, etc. From 2020 to present, the company has completed planting more than 5,000 hectares of forest and planted a total of more than 2 million trees, including both native and rare timber species. The goal of these projects is not only to compensate for the amount of wood used but also to restore biodiversity and improve the function of the forest ecosystem.
In addition, NEBU TIMBER has also cooperated with Cameroonn forestry organizations and local communities to train and raise awareness of environmental protection and sustainable forest management for more than 500 Cameroonns. This helps them participate in forest management and economic development without harming the environment.
Controlling the Logging Area
One of NEBU TIMBER’s top priorities in Cameroon is to strictly control all logging activities to ensure compliance with sustainable forest management principles.
Over the past year, NEBU TIMBER has made significant progress in controlling the area of logged forest. Specifically, the company has worked with HATC and the Cameroonn government to reduce illegal logging by up to 40% through local community education programs and strengthening sustainable forest protection and management. In addition, the company is committed to ensuring that 95% of the timber harvested complies with international sustainable logging standards.
Improving Local Agriculture
In addition to reforestation and controlling the area of logged forest, NEBU TIMBER also invests in improving local agriculture to improve the self-reliance and sustainability of Cameroonns.
Specifically, in 2021, NEBU TIMBER implemented technical support programs such as crop rotation, the use of organic fertilizers, and the implementation of irrigation systems. These agricultural activities have helped increase agricultural productivity by 30% for more than 2,000 farmers in Cameroon. Specifically, cassava production increased by about 33%, and corn production increased by 27% compared to 2020. At the same time, agricultural improvement activities also help to minimize the negative impact on the environment caused by the use of chemical fertilizers and inefficient manual irrigation.
